MEDICINE DISPENSER With APP TRACKER

MATERIALS: Plastic Shell, Arduino, Wireless Shield, Re-usable cup, Fingerprint Scanner, Medicine Carousel, AC Adapter, Speaker, Medicine Funnel, Ren shape (high density foam, Lacquer, Acrylic Laser-cutting Machine, Solid Works, Key shot, and Adobe Illustrator/Aftereffects,

DIMENSIONS: H 11.5” x W 6” x D 5.5”

This product aims to relieve elders/users from having to recall when to take their medication, to prevent them from overdosing, and  help them maintain unwanted users (children and addicts)  from having access to prescribed meds. This is accomplished with an alarm that will sound when the medicine is dispensed. It will forward the updated progress of use to the caretakers phone (with the given app and push notifications). Embedded fingerprint technology records and updates the system (dispenser) as well as the application for the caretaker to keep track of the users daily intake. Overall it’s an alternative to the already difficult to open medicine containers.
When it came down to creating the physical components of the Medicine dispenser I went through a series of different forms. I focused on the function before diving into the ideation process for the shell/exterior of the product. Exploring both rectilinear and organic forms of the shell, I found it a lot more reasonable to work around the inner components.  I sketched and 3D modeled my options accurate drawings to properly lathe and observe the physical prototypes.
